Our wall clocks are individually hand made by dishing a sheet of brass then patinaing it with our own mix of traditional and modern sculptural patinas. Wall clocks can be mounted either diagonally as shown or square, according to taste. Each comes with a quartz movement, made in the US, and is powered by a single AA battery (not included). Hands will be either black or brass-colored, depending on which contrasts better with the patina colors. The square-in-square patina style - reminiscent of Josef Albers' work - is our most popular look for clocks. It was originally developed for our modular wallpieces, to allow a single small panel to contain more complexity and a range of colors. Wall clocks are available in plain (single-color) patinas, in most of our patinas. Square-in-square styles take advantage of the layering we use in our patinas, and present a much wider range of colorways even while using a more limited palette.

Measures approximately 6 x 6".

Handmade by David and Reed Bowman in Berkley, California.

David M Bowman Studio consists of two people: David Mills Bowman and his son, Reed Christopher Bowman. David began working in metal in 1971, near the time Reed was born; he first made silver jewelry, later moved on to brass belt buckles, then to larger pieces in patinaed brass. Over the years David has worked alone or with different assistants, but he has worked exclusively with Reed since the mid-1990s. They sell their work at fine retail galleries around the country.
