Sorry for the loss of your gentle little friend.
This card features an image from an original paper cutting by Angie Pickman of Lawrence, Kansas. Printed by Artists to Watch in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Angie Pickman is a nationally recognized cut paper artist that combines the art of traditional paper cutting with collage to create intricately detailed works of art and animations. Her work is heavily inspired by her love of nature and the tranquility of the terrain of rural Kansas.
Pickman has been featured in Midwest Living and Martha Stewart Living magazines, and her animation work appears in Daughters of the Forest, a PBS documentary, in the summer of 2016. In 2018, her first children’s book, Merry Menagerie – Animal Antics from A to Z, was released. She has won numerous awards for her work, including an Independent Music Award for album art.
She received her master’s degree in 2004 from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, which is where she first learned of the art of silhouette animation artist Lotte Reiniger (1899 – 1981). Reiniger’s style and technique inspired Pickman to set off on the artistic path that she continues today.
“I began cutting paper in 2003 after seeing “The Adventures of Prince Achmed” – a cut paper stop-motion silhouette animation from 1926 by Lotte Reiniger. I had always wanted to be “an artist” – I knew from a very young age that it was my life calling, but it took me a long time to figure out in which medium this would manifest itself. The traditional forms taught in school never felt quite right, but when I saw Lotte’s work, something clicked.”

Life is busy, but we can never underestimate the power of a handwritten note. All the little social media “Likes” in passing will never compare to receiving a lovely handwritten message from a friend or loved one. When paired with amazing art & perhaps a perfect quote, it helps us to feel grounded, connected, and part of the whole.
We believe that a sustainable environment requires everyone to be conscious about the consumption of non-renewable resources while finding ways to reduce waste. Therefore, we only print on recycled paper! Each printed product we create has the highest post-consumer content available in a sheet that will still produce a high-quality reproduction. By printing with vegetable-based inks our products are less harmful to the environment. All our paper mills and printers are Forest Stewardship Council certified. We respect our environment by recycling, reusing, and reducing our waste at every opportunity.
