Handmade by David Pellerin of Indikoi Pottery in Bozeman, Montana.
I make hand thrown high fire porcelain pieces with beautiful crystalline glazes. The crystals (bubbly patterns) are formulated within the glaze matrix and grow during the heating and cooling cycle inside the kiln. The size, placement, and number of crystals will vary on every piece. My work is microwave and dishwasher safe.
I make art because I thrive on the challenge of building and creating things for not only simple beauty, but also everyday functionality. Working with my hands has always been my nature. From the time I was a little boy, building word signs by hammering nails into a board to my first ceramics class in high school, I was taken with the process.
My inspiration is simple... I am inspired by quality craftsmanship and the process of creating a functional well-made piece of art. My work is thrown on the wheel, and always intentional and thought out. Whether I am making sinks, lamps or vases my work reflects a tight throwing style. I am always attentive to my forms and strive to maintain consistency in everything I create.
I enjoy making work people can use and enjoy. I don't have hidden meanings behind what I do. I am a pure craftsman. I love working in clay, embrace the challenges of creating the best product I can, and support my family doing what I am passionate about.
