Pendant Light Fixture #3 by Curt Brock
Handmade by Curt Brock of Silverpoint, Tennessee.
Measures approximately 10.5" x 6.25".
Curt’s work and approach to glass is greatly influenced by working and teaching at the Pilchuck Glass School. Here he met and worked with Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra, and Stanislav Libensky and many other well established glass artists.
Curt became head of the Glass Department in 1994. The core curriculum focuses on developing a strong foundation of technical skills both in hot and cold glass. Curt has a deep commitment to teaching his students how to make a living practicing their craft. In 2009 he was awarded the Arts Educator of the year. He has pieces on display in over 25 museum collections around the world.
CB Glass was founded as a vehicle for developing limited edition blown glass pieces that focus on function and the originality of design. He challenges himself as a craftsman and a designer to create affordable yet beautiful unique pieces. “Ideas, everyone has them but my job is to select a few of my better ones and bring them into reality. The only way I know how to do this is through a lot of hard work, some calloused hands and a clear idea of what I feel brings quality to a handmade object.”
"Where there's smoke, there's fire, and where there's fire, there is potential for glass. Where there is glass, there is light. Where glass and light meet, you may find magic." -Curtiss Brock
