Sunflower Jar by Nancy Briggs

This lidded jar is made of red earthenware clay and lined with a metallic black liner glaze. The rich, matte surface features bright sunflowers which are accented with a white slip and layered underglazes.

Handmade by Nancy Briggs of Des Moines, Iowa. Briggs is a full-time artist and part-time teacher at the Ankeny Art Center. She has been a potter for over 40 years and through her work, shares the message to "Love the Earth".
