A funky bunch of abstract flowers painted on reclaimed wood.

The wood is poplar and is a piece of a discarded feed trough to a corn sheller, dating to the late 1800's.

Original painting on a reclaimed wooden block by David Hinds of Springfield, Illinois.

Image size: 4 x 5.75"

Sides of board are left natural.

The sights and sounds of my childhood come to life in my artwork, whether it be my abstracted farm animals, cherished pets, or my local hero, Abraham Lincoln.

I was fortunate to have grown up 3 miles down the road from famed folk artist George Colin. His use of soft pastels nurtured my love of the simple little sticks of pure pigment. The immediate bold and brilliant colors never cease to amaze me.
